The Carlton Football Club began the first leg of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2016.
After notching up seven wins for the season – three more than last year – the Blues ended up finishing 14th on the ladder.

OVERVIEW
Dubbed the ‘marathon man’, Ed Curnow pulled on the navy blue jumper for his sixth consecutive season in 2016.
As an experienced and well-respected player within the group, Curnow was given a platform to formally represent his teammates, joining the seven-man leadership group that drove Carlton this year.
However, it was still a season of firsts for the hard-running midfielder. The Round 12 clash against St Kilda at the MCG saw the 26-year-old reach 100 senior appearances in the navy blue, ultimately earning a place on the No.35 locker alongside Carlton greats, Peter Dean and Jack Conley.
His significant contributions to the Club, both on and off the field, were recognised at the John Nicholls Medal, as he was awarded the ‘Best Clubman’ – a prestigious award that sheds light on a player who has made a momentous impact on both the team and community.
Being one of only four players to face every round in the 2015 season, Curnow backed up his dedication, elite fitness and demonstrated his importance to Carlton as he notched up an impressive 21 appearances this season.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Ed undeniably lived up to his moniker as the ‘marathon man’ in the Blues’ Round 15 clash against Collingwood at the MCG. The task of restricting Adam Treloar was made to look effortless as the Pie was left mark-less, whilst Curnow performed with 23 disposals and 12 kicks a game-high 12 tackles.
