Carlton will open the 2017 season with a home game against traditional rival Richmond.
The AFL today announced the Round 1 fixture, which sees the Blues host the Tigers at the MCG on Thursday, March 23.
It will mark the 10th time in 11 years that Carlton and Richmond open a season, with the tradition beginning in 2007.
The full 2017 AFL fixture will be released on Thursday, October 27.
