Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce a new partnership with La Trobe University.
The exclusive partnership between the organisations will focus on conducting collaborative research in sport science, providing La Trobe students with a range of unique experiences to improve their employability, supporting the professional development of Carlton’s employees and delivering school and community outreach programs.
The partnership will also provide La Trobe students greater access to internships at the club while University researchers will assess and refine the Club’s "Carlton in School" program, its popular mentoring, health and sport education syllabus.
Carlton CEO Steven Trigg welcomed the partnership with La Trobe University and highlighted a shared sense of commitment to Melbourne’s northern corridor between the two organisations.

‘We are very pleased La Trobe University have joined the club as an official partner for the next three years,” Trigg said.
“We are excited that La Trobe will assist to further leverage our schools program in a more meaningful way and we, in turn, are in a position to provide real world player and work contexts, from which students and researchers can learn."
La Trobe Director of Sport Professor Russell Hoye says the University is proud to align with such an historic club that contributes significantly to Melbourne’s north and shares many of the same core values.
"This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for us to share our sporting research knowledge in a practical, ongoing way,” Hoye said.
“Our students and sports researchers will work alongside and support Carlton in areas such their staff wellbeing strategy and Schools program.”
Currently, three Carlton listed players are enrolled at La Trobe University and receive ongoing support to manage their studies through the University’s Elite Athlete Program. La Trobe offers more sport-related courses than any other university in the country and its researchers make a significant contribution to the welfare of the industry.
