Carlton’s membership for 2011 is now over 30,000 with the first match of the season just over four weeks away.

The 30,000th member joined earlier this week taking the membership to more than 3,000 above the number for the same time last year.

“We are very happy with the membership numbers to date and hope this continues over the next few weeks,” said Carlton CEO Greg Swann.

“To have 30,000 members is a great start as we are aiming to have 50,000 members this year to ensure we continue to grow as a Club. There is real excitement around the Club and that is being shown by the membership numbers,” Swann added.

Importantly for supporters there are still excellent level one season reserved seats still available for 2011. These seats provide guaranteed entry to all Carlton home games with a reserved seat on level one to view the action.

At this stage 14,000 members from 2010 are still to renew for 2011 and together with supporters who were not members last year, the 50,000 mark is well within reach.

An incentive for members is the soon to be announced member only competition that will see one lucky 2011 Carlton member join a Carlton great to carry the match day football onto the MCG prior to the start of the season opening game against Richmond on March 24th. All 2011 members will have the chance to be this lucky winner. Further details will be announced on the Carlton website soon.

During the NAB Challenge Series, this week Carlton play GWS in Canberra, 2011 Carlton Members receive free entry to the Carlton games.
