Day one of the Australia/New Zealand sales conference for Nike, Carlton’s performance partner, was held at Visy Park today.

After a solid day inside working on strategies the Nike team moved to the Don Chipp Lecture Theatre to hear from Brett Ratten before finishing the day with a training session on the ground.

Senior Assistant Coach organised the on-field activities with the Nike staff split into five groups for some AFL training under the watchful eye of 12 Carlton players.

Marc Murphy, Jarrad Waite, Matthew Kreuzer, Jeffrey Garlett, Aaron Joseph, Matthew Watson, Ryan Houlihan, Kane Lucas, Paul Bower, Dennis Armfield, David Ellard and Simon White passed on some tips as the Nike crew, including the New Zealanders, tried their hand at a number of activities.

Goal kicking included from in front and also the snap shot from the boundary line, a marking drill provided some contact while the tackle bags activity was the favourite with everyone getting into the spirit of the session.

A final competition between the five groups involved the tackle bag and kicking for goal with one group declared the Nike Champs for the day.
