Captain Chris Judd is expected to play his first match of the 2011 pre-season when Carlton play GWS in Canberra on Saturday.

Judd didn’t play in Carlton’s round one NAB Cup matches against Collingwood and Richmond at Etihad Stadium on February 12. While he has been in full training, Carlton coach Brett Ratten said after Carlton’s first intra-club match that Judd would play in either the second or third week of the pre-season competition.

“This is about his (Judd’s) tenth pre-season in the AFL and we know the workload he has each year so we he will not commence playing matches until after the first round of the NAB Cup. The focus is on being prepared for round one and the season ahead,” Ratten said after Carlton’s intra-club match in January.

Carlton’s team for the match in Canberra will be based around the best preparation for the season for the individuals and the team as this is the third last match for the players before the season commences on Thursday March 24 at the MCG.

Carlton 2011 Members will have free admission to Saturday’s match at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

General admission and reserved seat tickets for the match are now on sale through Ticketmaster - www.ticketmaster.com.au or phone 1300 136 122.  Carlton Members wishing to upgrade to a reserved seat will only be able to do so via phone or at any Ticketmaster outlet.
