The Carlton Football Club began the first leg of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2016.

After notching up seven wins for the season – three more than last year – the Blues ended up finishing 14^th on the ladder.

With the team now on a break, we’re taking a look back at each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for Carlton’s No. 41, Levi Casboult:

OVERVIEW

In his fifth year at Carlton, Levi Casboult ran out 18 times in the navy blue.

His clean hands were once again a feature of his game, ending the season ranked No. 1 at the Club for contested marks – averaging over two per game.

In one of his most influential games for the year – Round 7 v Collingwood – the big man gathered 17 possessions, hauled in 11 marks and bagged three goals. The final goal – a long bomb from 50 – sealed the game for Carlton. 

Levi’s 2016 appeared all but over when his knee gave way in the opening minute of the following match against Port Adelaide. But he missed just one game, and was there for the Blues’ stunning display against Geelong in Round 10 at Etihad Stadium.

Having signed a new one-year deal at the end of this year, and at just 26 years of age, big Levi’s best is surely ahead of him.

– Speaking to RSN radio in April, Carlton captain Marc Murphy praised the off-field efforts of the Blues’ forward. 

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

With just over seven minutes remaining in Carlton’s Round 7 clash with Collingwood, Casboult slotted his third goal for the match to silence the Magpies and afford Carlton its third win for the season.
