Earlier this year, the Carlton Football Club established a Facebook page, New Blue, as part of an initiative to educate first-time followers not only about the Blues, but AFL in general.

To complement this objective in 2013, we're looking to recruit “New Blue” bloggers of various racial and cultural backgrounds to engage those who might be new to the game, including;

The role of a New Blue Blogger will be to immerse themselves in the Carlton Football Club and document all that they have learnt and experienced by way of an online article. This piece will be promoted amongst the communities of each of the bloggers as well as on the Carlton website, which attracts one million visitors per month.

The primary objective of each blogger will be to engage those who might be new to the game, including;

• newly-arrived migrants;
• ESL (English Second Language) students at primary, secondary and tertiary level; and

• all who boast links with this city’s multi-layered multicultural community

.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who will be available to come into the Club once a fortnight and attend a number of Melbourne-based matches. They will also be required to attend Club functions throughout the year.

If you're interested in becoming a "New Blue Blogger" for season 2013, please contact Carlton's Multicultural Partnerships Co-ordinator, Ned Murphy, on (03) 9389 6261 or Ned.Murphy@carltonfc.com.au.
