It was game on as students from Carlton's High Rise Program took part in the traditional half-time Auskick match, during Round 18's clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
Created specifically for Carlton Primary School students, the High Rise Program aims to empower young people in the local area through positive role modelling.
Situated at the foot of the commission flats, the students that attend Carlton Primary School are often the children of newly arrived refugees and migrants.
Carlton Football Club's Fan Development and Diversity Co-ordinator Ned Murphy says the program has proven successful in helping students in a wide range of areas.
"The students at Carlton Primary School have seen more than just their football skills improve as a result of participating in the program,” Murphy said.
"The children learn about healthy living, positive behaviour, teamwork and building friendships, and it also gives these kids the opportunity to do things they wouldn't normally get to do."
