For over 10 years, the YMCA has been running camps for local families living in the Carlton public housing estate. These families do it tough. The camps bring families together to be active and to have fun. More importantly though, they make families happy.
Sadly though, these camps are in trouble. The Y needs to raise at least $10,000 each year to keep them going. And in order to raise funds, YMCA has teamed up with the Blues to help those doing it tough.
The YMCA is our match day partner for this Sunday's match against the GWS Giants at Etihad Stadium.
As part of this initiative, a video will be screened prior to the first bounce with a call to action directing people to make a donation to the Y, the junior mascot spot for Sunday's game has been auctioned, and a signed guernsey is being raffled. YMCA volunteers will also rattle tins on the concourse of Etihad Stadium before Sunday's game against the Giants.
