BACK at it again.
Carlton will feature under Thursday night lights in 2020 when it comes up against reigning premiers Richmond in the season opener.
A bumper crowd will once again flock to the MCG for the traditional Opening Round clash, with both clubs to continue the share of revenue after a renewed gate-share agreement prior to 2018.
It will be the 12th time the two clubs have opened the home-and-away year since being introduced in 2008.
The past 11 Round 1 clashes between the two sides have seen an average attendance of over 78,000 people.
The announcement comes after it was confirmed today that the same teams will open the AFLW season from Ikon Park on Friday 7 February.
The sub-plots are everywhere for the season opener, with Richmond’s flag unfurling also likely to coincide with the return of Eddie Betts in Navy Blue.
The full AFL fixture for season 2020 will be released on Thursday 31 October.
