Carlton Media selects its top-five player stats from the Blues' 23-point victory over Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday:

Matthew Kreuzer
Career-high 14 contested possessions

Inclement conditions are tailor-made for Matthew Kreuzer. The wetter it was on Saturday, the more the Blues’ ruckman revelled, bullocking his way to a career-high 14 contested possessions. He also had an equal game-high six clearances – staggering numbers for a man standing 2m tall.

Samo Petrevski-Seton
Equal game-high 7 score involvements

It’s rare for a 19-year-old to have such an influence on a game as Samo Petrevski-Seton did on Saturday. In adverse conditions and under dark clouds, the silky-skilled midfielder’s composure and elite decision-making shone brightest. His equal game-high seven score involvements (including two goals) proved just how damaging he was.

Caleb Marchbank
Equal game-high 6 intercept marks

The Blues took a remarkable 13 marks from Collingwood’s inside 50s, with Caleb Marchbank leading the way. The Round 6 Rising Star nominee was everywhere, timing his runs to perfection to record an equal game-high six intercept marks alongside Collingwood’s Ben Reid. The Pies had four more inside 50s than the Blues, but it was Marchbank and co. who kept Collingwood's forwards at bay.

Alex Silvagni
Equal game-high 11 intercepts

It was yet another outstanding performance from Alex Silvagni, who was as solid as a rock in the Blues’ watertight defence. The boyhood Bluebagger meant business against the side he grew up loathing, constantly putting his body on the line to record an equal game-high 11 intercepts. His desperate tackle on Will Hoskin-Elliott, which led to a goal on the stroke of half-time, was something special.

Patrick Cripps
Team-high 25 pressure acts

The Blues pride themselves on pressure, and it was Patrick Cripps who led the way in this regard. The young gun exerted his authority with a game-high 25 pressure acts (one ahead of Ed Curnow), including eight tackles. Carlton’s intensity proved telling, with nine players recording five or more tackles.
