The Carlton Football Club in partnership with La Trobe University has committed to promoting gender equality through the establishment of a scholarship offered to its female employees.
In an endeavour to enhance the career pathways and internal promotion opportunities of the Club’s female staff, the Carlton Football Club Female Talent – Bound by Blue Scholarship affords financial support to study at La Trobe.
The scholarship was specifically designed with La Trobe University to allow female employees to advance their current skills, develop leadership capabilities and progress their career aspirations within the Club and sporting industry.
Carlton Football Club CEO Steven Trigg acknowledged the impact of the annual scholarship as significant in fostering the development of the Club’s female employees.
“The Carlton Football Club Female Talent – Bound by Blue Scholarship facilitates a great opportunity for the Club’s female staff to advance their skills,” Trigg said.
“As a Club, we’re extremely proud to join forces with La Trobe to empower our female employees to excel in the workforce.”
Earlier this year, the Carlton Football Club Female Talent – Bound by Blue Scholarship was awarded to Media Coordinator Grace Phillips.

Upon being granted the scholarship in February, Phillips enrolled in La Trobe’s Bachelor of Communications and is currently amid her first semester at the university.
As the maiden recipient of the scholarship, Phillips said she was honoured to be given the opportunity to study at La Trobe while she strived to grow in her role at Carlton.
“I was thrilled to be awarded the scholarship at the beginning of the year,” Phillips said.
“The scholarship has allowed me to undertake studies that are extremely beneficial to me in my position at Carlton.
“I can’t speak highly enough of the support I have received from both the university and the Club."
