The Round 3 showdown between Carlton and Essendon will see the two sides battle it out for the Madden Cup at the MCG.
The Madden Cup is named in honour of brothers Justin and Simon, who between them played 710 games for Carlton and Essendon.
Having first been introduced in 1997 - the year Justin Madden retired from the Blues – the Cup will be up for grabs for the 21st time this Sunday.
Carlton premiership ruckman Justin Madden sported the navy blue guernsey on 287 occasions, including the 1987 and 1995 premierships. He was also crowned Carlton’s best and fairest player in 1985 and 1991.
