For the second straight year, the Northern Blues will head to Punt Road in March to take on Richmond in a curtain raiser to the AFL season opener.
Taking place prior to the traditional Carlton-Richmond game on Thursday, March 23, the practice match between the VFL sides will commence at 4:30pm and entry is free of charge for the fans.
It’ll give Bluebaggers the best chance to see their entire list in action at the first possible opportunity, with supporters encouraged to support the young Blues before Carlton’s home game at the MCG immediately afterwards.
The VFL announced the pre-season contest earlier this week, with the club to announce the remainder of its pre-season fixtures in the near future.
The Northern Blues is continuing to work with AFL Victoria in relation to further curtain raisers throughout the 2017 season. An announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
