Kym Lebois could be in line to make his VFL debut in the Bertocchi 23 for Sunday’s home game against the Casey Demons.
Lebois will play his first match since pre-season, with ankle and calf setbacks delaying his return to football.
Named on the extended bench, Lebois could either feature in VFL or Development action, depending on the final team to be released on the morning of the game.
Sam Kerridge has been included in the starting 18, having featured in Carlton’s win last weekend against Collingwood.
Sam Russell, Marcus Stavrou, Dyson Stevens and Glenn Strachan could also return, after being named in the extended squad of 27.
Coming out of the team are Carlton-listed Harry McKay and Rhys Palmer, who are both being rested after last Sunday’s win at Victoria Park.
Kristian Jaksch has been named at full-back alongside Northern’s Cameron O’Shea and impressive youngster Harrison Macreadie.
The likes of Daniel Gorringe, Jed Lamb, Ciaran Sheehan and Liam Sumner will all continue their returns from injury layoffs after successful VFL comebacks last weekend.
Once again, there could be up to 19 Carlton-listed players featuring for the Blues on the weekend, as Northern looks for its fourth straight win.
Sunday’s senior match will be streamed live on the VFL website, with the game commencing at 2pm from Preston City Oval.
In Development action, the Blues have lost Zach Ballard, Tim Jones and Sam Fowler for their game against the Demons, which begins from 11am.
