Four Carlton players have helped to widen the smiles of hundreds of young children – at one very special birthday party.

Through the Carlton Football Club’s Blues Foundation – a foundation which aims to raise awareness for the prevention of violence against women and the prevention of social exclusion of young people – Darcy Vescio, Brianna Davey, Sam Rowe and Liam Jones flocked to Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday morning to join Fox Fm’s seventh birthday celebration for Logan Tier.

In the company of Captain Carlton and Navy Nina, the four Blues offered their colouring-in tips and a few handy handball pointers to ensure Logan’s seventh birthday was one he’d never forget.

The party was organised and hosted by breakfast radio personalities Fifi Box, Dave Thornton, Brendan Fevola and Byron Cooke, after Logan’s mother Bev told the program that her son – who suffers from spina bifida – had no one attend his sixth birthday party last year.

With the celebration uniting children and their parents who have experienced social exclusion, Carlton’s AFLW player Brianna Davey said the Blues were thrilled to be involved.

“We (Blues) place a big emphasis on including people and making sure everyone feels a sense of belonging,” Davey said after the event.

“Today’s party for Logan was a massive driver in social inclusion and we love to be a part of events such as this where we can have a positive impact.”
