CIARAN Byrne will play his first game since Round 2 after being named as one of five inclusions for Carlton in its clash with the Gold Coast Suns.
Byrne — whose last game was against the Suns in April — will return to the action alongside fellow inclusions Dale Thomas, Darcy Lang, Jed Lamb and Sam Rowe.
Thomas and Lamb both return after missing last week’s action through injury and suspension respectively.
In addition to the forced changes of Zac Fisher (leg) and Liam Jones (knee), Levi Casboult, Nick Graham and Matthew Shaw have been omitted.
Matthew Kreuzer won’t return, with the Club taking a cautious approach in his recovery from an elevated heart rate. Matthew Lobbe will once again take on the ruck mantle in his absence.
The Blues take on the Suns at Metricon Stadium from 7:25pm on Saturday night.
