Carlton Media chooses its top-five player stats from the Blues' 35-point loss to Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Sunday:
Sam Docherty
Game-high 12 intercepts
Sam Docherty's 12 intercepts had him ranked as the No.1 intercept player on Sunday, two ahead of next best Caleb Marchbank and Michael Johnson. The Blues' reigning John Nicholls Medallist also recorded a team-high four intercept marks alongside fellow defender Alex Silvagni. He continues to thrive as a sweeping defender, using his footy smarts to read the opposition's attacks and repel them time and time again.
Patrick Cripps
Game-high 42 pressure acts
Patrick Cripps had a staggering 42 pressure acts, 14 ahead of next best David Mundy. It was the first time this season any Carlton player had cracked the 40-mark, and while Cripps wasn't as prolific with the footy (21 disposals at an efficiency of 57 per cent), it was what he did off the ball which shone brightest.
Jack Silvagni
Game-high 3 marks inside 50
Jack Silvagni didn't register his name on the scoresheet, but finished with a game-high three marks inside 50 - one more than Fremantle's players combined. He was one of the key playmakers in the Blues' sensational start, marking cleanly in driving rain and working tirelessly, but was starved of opportunities when the Dockers got on top in the second half.
Samo Petrevski-Seton
Game-high 10 tackles
Samo Petrevski-Seton struggled to make an impact with the ball in his return to his home state, but his pressure was again enormous. The first-year midfielder finished with a game-high 10 tackles and continues to show a huge appetite for the contest.
Marc Murphy
Team-high 6 score involvements
It was business as usual for the Blues' skipper, who produced another four-quarter effort to finish with 32 disposals (16 contested), seven clearances and a goal. Good things happen when the ball is in hands, as shown by his team-high six score involvements on a day where challenging conditions restricted scoring.
