Continuing one of the longest partnerships in Australian sport, Carlton Football Club is delighted to announce a five-year extension with co-major partner, Hyundai Motor Company Australia (HMCA).
Renewing its commitment to the Club until 2022, the five-year extension takes the long-standing partnership with HMCA to 21 years overall; having already been a partner of the Blues for 16 of the 31 years the company has been in Australia.
To celebrate the longevity of the relationship between HMCA and the Carlton Football Club, Hyundai will give away a brand new vehicle to a Blues member in attendance at the Round 22 clash against Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday 19 August 2017.
Carlton President Mark LoGiudice said he was thrilled the Club was continuing its strong and dynamic partnership with HMCA.
“This announcement is a vote of confidence in the direction of the Carlton Football Club and we are delighted Hyundai will be with us as our enduring co-major partner for at least another five years,” LoGiudice said.
“To the team at Hyundai Australia, we are grateful for your support of the Club. This extension to 2022 will take us through to an incredible 21 years making it one of the longest partnerships in Australian sport – a testament to the strength of the relationship we have built together. It says a lot about both organisations.
“We’re looking ahead with a great sense of excitement about what both organisations can achieve together over the next few years.”
HMCA Chief Operating Officer Scott Grant said: “Our long-standing relationship with Carlton Football Club is of great importance to Hyundai Motor Company Australia and our Victorian and Tasmanian dealer network. The length of the partnership speaks volumes of the passion we hold for the Blues. Led by President Mark LoGiudice and CEO Steven Trigg, it was an obvious decision to extend our agreement as co-major partner of Carlton,” Grant said.
“Moving forward we’re excited to work closely with their teams and support the development of the Club. From on-field success, to member acquisition and the growth of the AFLW team, we’re going to be beside them bleeding blue every step of the way.”
To further celebrate the partnership, Hyundai and Carlton are set to launch the ‘Welcome to the Neighbourhood’ campaign, which will see 100 new residents throughout the northern corridor of Melbourne receive 100 tickets to the Round 22 game against Hawthorn.
Hyundai will continue to retain the front space on the Club’s home guernseys, as well as all major branding assets across the Club’s AFL and AFL Women’s programs. In 2016, Hyundai became the first major partner of the Blues’ inaugural AFLW side.
In 1986 Hyundai launched in Australia and in 2003 HMCA was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Korean parent company.
Hyundai is the fifth-largest automotive company in the world and is widely acknowledged as a global leader in design, safety and quality, priding itself on building cars that deliver affordable technology to all Australians.
