CARLTON'S Matthew Kreuzer has made his return to AFL Media’s Team of the Week following another outstanding performance in Carlton’s clash with West Coast at Domain Stadium.
The 28-year-old, who last featured among the best 22 in Round 16, was recalled to the line-up for the sixth time this season after impressing with 33 hitouts, seven tackles, five clearances and 17 disposals (15 contested) against the Eagles.
The Blues’ big man was listed as a follower in the Round 21 team, with Brisbane’s Dayne Beams and Sydney’s Luke Parker by his side.
For his display in the West, Kreuzer also received one vote for the 2017 Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.
While AFL Media declared Carlton captain Marc Murphy “unlucky to miss out” on a place in this week’s side, senior coaches Brendon Bolton and Adam Simpson recognised his on-field effort by affording seven votes to the 30-year-old after he recorded 29 disposals, two goals, six clearances and a game-high 10 inside 50s during the clash.

Blues midfielder Sam Kerridge also polled one vote after he tallied 24 disposals at 83.3 per cent disposal efficiency, seven marks and six tackles.
Carlton will return to the action to face Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 19 August, with the match to mark the Blues’ final home game for the season.
