The Blues started in promising fashion but were overrun by the Suns at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Marc Murphy continued his rich vein of form, collecting a game-high 10 score involvements from his 28 disposals. The skipper was a constant danger to the Suns’ defence and also led the Blues for inside 50s (six).

Jack Silvagni
100 per cent disposal efficiency

Jack Silvagni produced his best performance in his short career so far, gathering 14 disposals and 10 marks and booting three goals. The 19-year-old thrived with more freedom to roam in midfield and made every possession count, finishing with a disposal efficiency of 100 per cent. 

Ed Curnow
Game-high 32 pressure acts

The Blues laid an impressive 82 tackles against the Suns to sit equal second overall in this category. Ed Curnow led the way with a game-high 10 tackles and 32 pressure acts – numbers which highlight his superior work rate.
 

Sam Docherty
Game-high 13 marks

The reliable Sam Docherty worked hard to find space in defence, gathering 26 disposals and a game-high 13 marks. Three of those marks were contested – an equal game-high with Levi Casboult. Docherty now leads the league for marks alongside West Coast’s Elliot Yeo with 38.

Levi Casboult’s marking prowess was on full display against the Suns, finishing with a game-high three contested marks. Nothing seemed to pass through his vice-like grip in what was a confident performance from the Blues’ big man.
