TAKE a look at these lesser-known facts as the Blues prepare to host the Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday:
- Carlton’s last win over the Western Bulldogs in Round 5, 2014 was Patrick Cripps’ first victory in AFL football. The second-gamer was replaced by substitute Chris Judd — returning from injury — in the third quarter.
- Marc Murphy polled three votes in that game four years ago, with 28 disposals and two goals. He is the last Carlton player to record the maximum votes in this fixture.
- Pending any final-selection changes, Sunday will mark the seventh time that Carlton has used 10 or more players aged between 18-21 in a single game. This has been boosted by the return of Jacob Weitering and the debut of Tom De Koning.

- Only six players named on the weekend have tasted success over Sunday’s opposition in the navy blue (Cripps, Ed Curnow, Murphy, Rowe, Simpson, Thomas). A further five have tasted victory against them, but for different sides.
- Carlton has never lost five games in a row against the Western Bulldogs: the Dogs have won the last four encounters between both sides.
- Jim Buckley is the youngest ever Carlton player to feature against the Western Bulldogs. He made his debut against the Dogs at the age of 16 years and 200 days back in 1977.
- Of the 36 players to run out for both clubs, Blues triple premiership player Adrian Gallagher has played the most AFL/VFL games with 220. He donned the navy blue on 165 occasions, before crossing to Footscray where he played 54 games in three seasons.
- Stephen Kernahan holds the record for most goals kicked by a Carlton player in this fixture, with a bag of 10 in Round 3, 1995. His tally of 10.7 was a career-best.
