Kerryn Harrington. Gab Pound. Madison Prespakis.
All Australians.
Three Blues have been named among the best of the best after outstanding seasons in AFLW 3.0.
At tonight’s W Awards, Harrington, Pound and Prespakis were all named in the 2019 Virgin Australia All-Australian team.
As one of the most-improved players in the whole competition, Harrington’s spot in the All Australian team was reward for outstanding effort.
Named across half-back, Harrington was crucial for the Blues in not only shutting the opposition out, but sending the Blues forward. In her second season in football, she led Carlton for one percenters and rebound 50s.
Pound built a formidable partnership with Harrington in defence, with the duo providing a foundation for a Carlton back-line which improved as a unit each week.
Another one who was a big improver under Daniel Harford, Pound played every game for the Blues and consistently stood up in big moments down back.
It was no surprise that Prespakis found her spot in the team, despite being in her debut season.
The midfield gun found herself right at home at the coalface, shining against much more experienced opponents. She placed in the top five in the competition for disposals and contested possessions, while also placing sixth for clearances.
