AFLW star Chloe Dalton believes that Carlton will reap the rewards of its hard work in the final weeks of the VFLW season.
Dalton featured in the seven-point loss to Collingwood on the weekend, which saw the Blues challenge the ladder-leading Pies right until the final siren.

Although Carlton did not come away with the four points, Dalton commended the Blues on a solid performance.
“We put in a really good performance against Collingwood on the weekend,” Dalton said.
“I think we really built on the win we had against Williamstown and hopefully over the next few weeks we’ll continue to do the same thing.”

Dalton has relished her new role in recent weeks, having made the move from defence to the midfield throughout the 2019 VFLW season.
The 26-year-old, who made a move from Rugby Sevens to football in the 2019 season, said that featuring in the midfield is helping develop her skillset as she continues learning the game.
“It’s been really good to get some solid minutes on-ball,” she said.
“I played a little bit on the wing in my first VFL season last year and moved around a little bit in the AFLW season.
“I’m still really new to the game so the more time I can get in [the midfield], the better.”
August marks a significant month for Dalton, who was officially selected as an AFLW rookie this time 12 months ago.
With several AFLW teammates playing alongside her, Dalton said her peers are her biggest teachers and inspiration.
“It’s really cool to see big Al (Alison) Downie back in the ruck,” she said.
“I have so much respect for her as a player and her work-rate.
“Having Darcy Vescio out there, she had a really big game on the weekend, so that’s been really good as well.”
While Dalton will not take to the field in Saturday's clash with the Richmond, she still believes that adhering to structure will be critical for the playing group.
“A big thing following the game from Melbourne Uni for us was to maintain our structure,” she said.
“I think heading into the Richmond game, that’s probably going to be a really big focus for us.”
