David Cuningham’s stunning solo effort has been nominated for the Round 6 Coates Hire Goal of the Year.
In the clash with Hawthorn at York Park, Cuningham stamped his return to the line-up with authority.
Fending off opposition captain Ben Stratton, the livewire proceeded to thread the needle from deep inside the forward pocket halfway through the first quarter.
It was the perfect display of the power and class which saw Carlton’s coaching staff desperate to get Cuningham back into the senior line-up.
The classy goal — which was his first of the season — capped off an encouraging comeback for Cuningham, who finished with 16 disposals, five score involvements and four tackles.
Up against Essendon’s Joe Daniher and Port Adelaide’s Paddy Ryder, make sure you vote for the No.28 below!
