LAUREN Brazzale has “no doubt” that Carlton can bring it against Adelaide in the 2019 AFLW Grand Final this Sunday.

After finishing the preliminary final with a game-high 22 disposals, Brazzale is hoping to continue her run of good form at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

“I was always pushing to get to the contest or in the right position,” Brazzale said to Women’s Australian Rules Football Radio on Wednesday.

“We had nothing to lose and you have to put everything on the line.”

Brazzale is more than happy for her side to be underestimated in the lead-up to Sunday, taking inspiration from her South Australian opponents.

“Adelaide is a terrific team, there is no question about that,” she said.

“But in their first year they were the underdogs, no-one rated them, and they came out and won it.”

She believes the key to defeating the Crows will be a repeat of the standout midfield performance that saw the Blues eclipse Fremantle’s inside-50 count. Carlton owned the territory on the weekend, finishing with 43 entries to Fremantle’s 21.

As for the Crows’ free-scoring forward line, Brazzale is confident Carlton’s backline chemistry has peaked just in time to subdue the competition’s highest-scoring side.

“The way our backline has jelled over the last couple of weeks is incredible — I have full faith in them to be able to stop the Adelaide forwards,” she said.

The message was simple from coach Daniel Harford following the preliminary final win: enjoy the victory but refocus for the match ahead.

And in the build-up for Sunday, Brazzale is maintaining a balance between the excitement and the week-to-week mentality of the playing group.

“It’s business now - enjoy it for tonight and celebrate, but there is one more to go,” she said.

“There's a great buzz around the club but it's the exact same as any other week. I’m a teacher, so I’ve got a lot of very excited kids and staff at the moment.”

Carlton will face the Crows in the 2019 AFLW Grand Final at Adelaide Oval this Sunday at 1pm (AEDT).
