JOSH Deluca has been named for his debut in Blue.
The new acquisition will play his first game of any kind since making his way to Carlton in the mid-season rookie draft, having been named in the Northern Blues’ midfield.
A combative midfielder capable of hitting the scoreboard, Deluca shone as one of the most-influential on-ballers in the WAFL, winning four premierships at two different clubs.
He is a big addition to the Northern line-up, who will host Geelong at Ikon Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Northern Blues squad for tomorrow's Round 13 clash with Geelong.
Deluca will be joined by as many as 16 new AFL-listed teammates in the contest with Geelong, as the Blues seek a return to the winners’ list in a critical second half of the season.
The Blues, who have also named Josh Hill, Kane Keppel, Marcus Stavrou and Jean-Luc Velissaris as potential inclusions, will be hoping for a similar result to the one that transpired against the Cats in Round 1.
Northern kicked off their year in the best possible manner, recording a one-point victory away from home.
Saturday’s game will be live-streamed on the Carlton Youtube channel.
