GEORGIE Parker will make her debut in the Navy Blue in this weekend’s game against Williamstown.
The former Collingwood AFLW player and 2016 Rio silver medallist is expected to use her explosive speed and athleticism to deliver a boost for the Blues on the weekend.
Sunday’s game will be an opportunity that Parker will be looking to make the most of, having been delisted by Collingwood at the end of the 2019 AFLW season.
Parker will join a host of AFLW stars returning for the Blues, with Madison Prespakis, Abbie McKay and Nicola Stevens returning to the side for the crunch clash at home.
Phoebe Chisholm is the other inclusion for the week, with Nicola Burns, Chloe Leighton, Jorja Borg, Taylah Manson and Teresa Cassar making way.
Carlton will go into the game full of confidence, having shown they are capable of mixing it with the best in last week’s thrilling draw against reigning premiers Hawthorn.
While the Blues will definitely be buoyed by the added experience of some of its AFLW stars, they can also draw from a number of the VFLW-listed players who have been growing in confidence as the season has progressed.
Bry Gurr and Courteney Bromage are among the many VFLW-listed players who have shown great signs over the last few weeks.
Gurr - who was named in the VFLW Team of the Week last round - provided the attacking spark the Blues were looking for last weekend, while Bromage has been consistent in her work around the contest throughout the year.
Sunday’s game will take place at Ikon Park, with a revised starting time of 10:30am.
