EASTERN Ranges co-captain Charlotte Wilson will pull on the navy blue in 2019 after Carlton selected the defender with pick No.27 in this year’s AFLW draft.
Representing Vic Metro in the under-18 national championships, the 17-year-old is a well-respected player who possesses strong leadership qualities.
Making her debut in the revamped VFLW competition, Wilson played five games for the Southern Saints across the course of the home-and-away season.
AFLW senior coach Daniel Harford said Wilson’s character and leadership qualities will positively benefit the team.
“Being named co-captain of her TAC Cup team is a tremendous achievement and shows her leadership skills and character,” Harford said.
“Charlotte also has a basketball background, so she’s an all-round athlete who loves the contest and the hard ball.”
Welcome, Charlotte!
