COREY Durdin has had his struggles with injuries recently, but he was well and truly back when he took the field in Gather Round.

Playing in his home state of South Australia, Durdin booted a career-best four goals and had seven score involvements in his first game back for the 2025 season.

Here's what he had to say.

On the win:

"We know we had some struggles early on [in the season], so to be able to come out and respond in the second half – I know that’s something we’ve needed to work on, and just stick it out, it was great to get the win."

On his personal performance:

"I’ve had to overcome a few challenges over the off-season with my body, and I’ve had to work pretty hard getting there, so to be able to get back and get back out there.

"The thing that made it really easy for me was Vossy kept it simple, he just said: 'bring your pressure, play your role, and the rest will sort itself out' and it sort of just happened."

On the strong second half:

"We came back out with an intention. We knew that it was going to be hot, but the other team is facing the same challenges as we are.

"To go out there and just focus on our defence, that was the main message going out there, so to be able to get that done and share the load out there was really pleasing."

On the support from the Bluebaggers:

"We know they’re passionate, faithful and to see such a good turnout from the ‘Baggers fans, we really feel the support, so thank you."

On Brodie Kemp:

"We love him down there in the forward line, it was really disappointing seeing him go down. We just have to wrap our arms around him, show him some love and hopefully it’s a speedy recovery."

On Good Friday:

"We just have to keep the outside noise out, focus on what we can control and now that we have our first win under our belt, we’ll keep the ball rolling, keep the focus on us and focus on what we’re good at."
