Charlie Curnow receives the Richard Pratt Medal at the 2023 Peter Mac Cup.

Thursday night marks another key chapter in the story of Carlton and Collingwood.

The longest-running charity match in VFL/AFL history continues between the two old enemies, when Navy Blue plus black and white come together for the Peter Mac Cup.

With the game dedicated to donations for cancer research, the game also sees the acknowledgment of the Richard Pratt Medallist, which is awarded to the best player on the ground.

The medal is named in honour of Pratt - a former player, committeeman, major donor and President at Carlton - for his overall contributions to the football club he loved.

It was back in 2009 when Pratt passed away following a battle with prostate cancer, which was the first year the Blues, Pies and Pratt Foundation came together to honour him.

The Richard Pratt Medal has been awarded to the best player on the ground in Carlton-Collingwood clashes since 2012.

The game serves as a reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, and encouraging regular check-ups where possible.

Tonight, all donations to Peter Mac will have double the impact.

Thanks to the Pratt Foundation, every dollar donated tonight will be matched with a donation of the same amount, up to a total of $100,000. We encourage everyone to give generously for this incredible cause. To donate, click here.
