THE 2025 AFL fixture has plenty to unpack, so let’s get into it.

Carlton will have a total of 17 games in Melbourne, including the first four games of the season, plus seven of the last eight rounds.

The Blues will play six home games at the MCG all against Victorian-based opposition, six interstate games and plenty of Thursday and Friday night footy to enjoy.

With so much to look forward to, find out the five most anticipated games of Carlton’s 2025 fixture.

Round 2 - Carlton v Hawthorn | MCG, Thursday 20 March, 7:30pm (AEDT)

The Blues' first home game for the year takes place in Round 2, where a blockbuster will be brewing under lights on Thursday night at the home of football.

Facing fellow 2024 finalists in Hawthorn, Carlton will be expecting a packed house with the Navy Blue army at the MCG.

These two teams have faced off 172 times, and while the Blues sit on the more positive side of the ledger, they’ll be looking to redeem themselves from the last time these two sides met in front of what's sure to be a capacity crowd.

Round 4 - Collingwood v Carlton | MCG, Thursday 3 April, 7:30 (AEDT)

Thursday night footy against the old enemy at the MCG. It’s a game fans won’t want to miss.

The rivalry is as almost old as football itself, and there really is no love lost when these two teams meet at the ‘G.

With 266 outings between them, the Blues fell to the Pies twice last year by the barest of margins and will definitely be looking to rectify the season that was.

Setting up the weekend with a bang, these tickets will be hot property for Carlton fans as a sold-out event looms.

Round 7 - Carlton v Geelong | MCG, Sunday 27 April, 3:20pm (AEST)

Carlton versus Geelong - with the sideshow of De Koning versus De Koning - will take place at the MCG on a Sunday afternoon in Round 7.

In 2024, both the Blues and the Cats walked away with a win from their two outings, but the teams only meet once in 2025. The Cats will take the trip up the highway to enemy territory, with a Blues’ home game ensuring the noise will be thunderous.

For the second straight year, these two sides will meet in ANZAC Round, when 87,000 packing into the MCG for the Saturday evening game. There'll surely be more fireworks in the Sunday afternoon slot in 2025.

Round 8 - Adelaide v Carlton | Adelaide Oval, Saturday 3 May, 3:45pm, (ACST)

Adelaide Oval treated the Blues well last season, flying home with two wins from two outings on the South Australian ground.

Looking to continue the trend, the Blues will take on the Crows on their home deck in Round 8, which will be their second of three trips to Adelaide in 2025.

Of course, it's the last Adelaide Oval duck the Blues will be hoping to break, having never defeated the Crows at the venue after 2024's success in Gather Round and then against Port Adelaide.

Round 13 - Carlton v Essendon | MCG, Sunday 8 June, 7:20pm (AEST)

In recent years, there haven't been much bigger days on the calendar for Blues and Bombers fans than King’s Birthday Eve.

Carlton taking on eld enemy Essendon at MCG the day before the public holiday for the third straight year is going to be a heavyweight battle, with both sides vying for redemption from their 2024 seasons.

The home of football under lights, brothers playing together, twins playing against each other, a Navy Blue home crowd… what else could you ask for?

These teams had the same timeslot last year which saw a triumphant Carlton deliver a 26-point victory in front of 88,000 fans.
