Kreuzer set for return

Matthew Kreuzer is set to resume his playing career this weekend.
“At this stage the plan is for Matthew to play for the Northern Bullants against Werribee on Saturday afternoon,” said General Manager Football Operations, Steven Icke.
“Obviously this will not be finalised until later in the week and is subject to how he pulls up after training this week. When he does resume the plan would be for him to play around 50% game time, similar to what Ryan Houlihan did last Saturday,” Icke said.
“There is certainly no pressure on Matthew to resume this week, the final decision will be his in conjunction with the medical team but at this stage it looks likely. Obviously we are all looking forward to his return but we know not to expect too much and to take it slowly,” Icke added.
Northern Bullants play Werribee at Werribee on Saturday afternoon at 1:10pm and the game will be televised live in Victoria on ABC TV 1.
Kreuzer, who turned 22 last Friday, has had a methodical rehabilitation program since rupturing his ACL in round 13 last year.
