BACK where it started.

Celine Moody has played the last six seasons of AFLW at the Western Bulldogs, but her football journey began at IKON Park.

Following sister Brea to a VFLW training session, Moody donned the Navy Blue before heading to Whitten Oval.

Now back with her sister and starting a new journey at Carlton, Moody is confident that a fresh start will be best for her career.

“It’s pretty cool to be a Bluebagger now, especially alongside my sister Brea: it has been a big change for me in terms of my football career,” Moody said.

“I’m very grateful for the years I had at the Western Bulldogs, but I’m definitely excited to see where this chapter in Navy Blue takes me and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into it with everyone.”

The feeling is mutual for the Moody family, who are grateful to have the twins playing for the same team.

Currently recovering from a shoulder injury which limited her 2023 season, Moody is raring to get cracking into her rehab so that she can join the playing group as soon as possible.

“The family is very excited for us to be playing under one roof and I’m excited to join this group of players and upwards from here,” she said.

“I had shoulder surgery eight weeks ago, out of the sling two weeks ago, I get to do my first rehab run today which is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to ticking a few more boxes and getting myself in good condition for the upcoming season.”

Playing 42 games with the Dogs and playing every match of season six to claim the Most Improved Award at the Dogs, Moody has had a lot of development in recent years.

With the move, Moody hopes that she can further her development and reach her peak alongside her sister – who drives her as a competitor.

“For the six seasons of my AFLW journey, I’ve hit smaller peaks but I still feel like I’m nowhere near the ceiling of my potential.

“I like to think that the change in environment here and being closer to my sister Brea who I’ve always been very competitive with, will motivate me to get a lot more out of my footy.

“I feel like this is the right place to get to my ceiling.”
