About 15 players and staff headed up to the local lawn bowls club on Thursday afternoon. And what was meant to be a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, turned into a very heated battle.

I teamed up with our opposition coach, Brett Munro, we took on Dennis Armfield and club myotherapist, Lauren Wilson. Dang and Loz struggled against us, and we eventually came home with the chocolates.

To one side of us, a real strategic game was taking place that involved coaches, Harvey, Harris and Capuano along with our very own veteran, Heath Scotland.  On the other side a boisterous game was underway, between Jamo and Marcus Davies, and Rusty and Hampo.

That group carried on a fair bit and most of the passes by stopped to watch the boys. It was a really good way to end the arvo.

We weren’t back at the hotel for long before it was time for dinner, it was a pretty quiet room where we eat. Instead of being 22 players and about the same number of staff. There were 22 players and just a handful of staff. High Performance Manager, Justin Cordy, had booked a couple of tables at a local Indian restaurant, he has done it the last few times the team has been over here in Perth and its meant to be a cracker restaurant.

Anyway, it was a pretty quiet night at the hotel, I watched part 2 of the Ben Cousins documentary and then headed downstairs for some treatment.

I slept in as late as I could this morning and went down for breakfast just before 10am. Following breakfast the midfielders had our line meeting and then we went for a walk along the Swan River. It’s a beautiful day over here, about 21o.

We had a lunch at the hotel, then I went for a coffee with Grigga, Simmo and Gibbsy.

We are now back at the hotel, and I am about to head down and get strapped before we board the bus at about 4pm.

It’s a great night for footy, so here’s hoping we can knock off the Dockers and get a home final in Melbourne. It’s certainly been a long time coming!
