THE VOTES are in for Round 5.
Topping the AFLCA votes for Carlton was Abbie McKay, with the midfielder putting together a blistering performance against Sydney on Friday afternoon that earned her seven votes.
The 22-year-old gathered 25 disposals, 15 contested possessions and nine clearances in was an intense, physical display through the middle, continuing her improvement with every game she plays.
Next up on six votes was fellow midfielder Mimi Hill, as the co-vice captain also held her end up in a 19-disposal game.
Hill’s best work was done offensively, totalling eight score involvements and four inside 50s, bringing her teammates into the game while also slotting a goal of her own: it was the crucial major of the day, giving the Blues a nine-point lead at the start of the final term.
Brea Moody polled five votes, where the ruck-forward produced one of the dominant aerial performances of the AFLW season to date.
Once again hitting the scoreboard to make it five goals in her last three games, Moody's presence was felt all over the ground, with five of her eight marks contested. Come the end of the game, Moody totalled 11 contested possessions, six score involvements and five intercept possessions.
Rounding out the votes was Kerryn Peterson, who received a single vote for her physical display.
The captain was moved into the middle in the second quarter and played a crucial role, amassing 16 disposals, nine contested possessions and four tackles, playing a crucial role for her team in Carlton's third win of the season.
