Anyone driving to the MCG for tonight's blockbuster between Carlton and Collingwood should allow extra time or take public transport.
Victoria Police has warned a planned protest could cause traffic chaos, particularly in the vicinity of Flinders Street Station.
More than 10,000 protestors are expected to march through the CBD before coming to a stop of the corner of Flinders St and Swanston St at about 5pm.
The protest has been organised by Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance.
