A young Carlton side was at the mercy of a rampant Port Adelaide on Friday night, going down by 90 points at Adelaide Oval.
Despite the heavy loss, a number of Blues impressed on the stats sheet.
Here are the top-five player stats from a Carlton perspective:
Patrick Cripps
Career-high 37 possessions
Despite playing under duress, Patrick Cripps didn't let his influence suffer. The tough midfielder willed himself all night, finishing with a career-high 37 possessions and game-high 18 contested possessions. It was a welcome return to form for Cripps, who was down on his usual output in the Blues' loss to Gold Coast the week prior.
Sam Docherty
Career-high 11 rebound 50s
The Blues may have conceded 71 inside 50s, but Sam Docherty's ability to find the footy and clear the danger was commendable. The reliable defender finished with a game-high 11 rebound 50s (also a career-high), six more than next best Tom Clurey (Port Adelaide) and teammate Lachie Plowman. He used the footy well too, with just two of his 29 possessions resulting in clangers despite Port Adelaide's manic pressure.
Tom Williamson
Team-high 10 intercepts
Tom Williamson showed his footy smarts with a team-high 10 intercepts. In just his third game, the young defender put himself in the right positions to take the footy off Port Adelaide more than any of his teammates. His most impressive intercept came in the first quarter, where he perfectly judged a Port Adelaide kick inside 50 to take a contested mark.
Charlie Curnow
Team-high 2 contested marks
Charlie Curnow enjoyed his best game in his short career, finishing with 19 touches and eight marks. His aerial prowess was the highlight, resulting in an equal team-high two contested marks.

Levi Casboult
Equal career-high 4 goals
Levi Casboult backed up his three-goal performance against the Suns with an equal career-high four majors at Adelaide Oval. Considering the Blues kicked just six goals and had 38 inside 50s, it was an outstanding performance from the powerful forward, who missed just one set-shot.
