REWARD for effort.
Four Blues have been named in the respective 2023 VFL and VFLW Teams of the Year.
Jaxon Binns was named in the VFL representative side on the back of a consistent season of development for the 18-year-old.
In his first year in the Navy Blue, Binns averaged 29 disposals and eight marks a game, as well as kicking eight goals across his 17 matches.

Playing a prominent role on the wing, Binns' strengths were shown with his proficiency by foot (he ranks No.2 in the VFL for kicks per game) as well as his elite running ability, often linking up in both offensive and defensive chains.
Named in his team's best players on numerous occasions, Binns proved to be a handy asset for Luke Power's side, impressing everyone in his maiden season at the elite level.
Representing the Blues in the VFLW Team of the Year were Maddie Di Cosmo and Ashlee Thorneycroft, who couldn't be split for Carlton's VFLW Best and Fairest award in 2023.
The two key midfielders sat in the top 10 for most VFLW disposals in 2023 and were often the highest-rated players on the field.
Thorneycroft was also a valuable asset in front of goal, slotting seven goals for the season, while Di Cosmo contributed three.
The pair also averaged eight tackles each per game, demonstrating the consistent physical pressure that they applied throughout the entire season.
Ciara Fitzgerald - who was signed as an injury replacement player for the 2023 AFLW season - also was named in the team for her strong season with North Melbourne, where she starred as an intercept defender.
