THE TEAM is in for the Blues’ Round 3 clash.
As the side prepares to re-group for their Perth trip, there has been one change made to the team that faced the Kangaroos last week.
Midfielder Taylor Ortlepp will aim to have an impact against the Eagles, replacing Annie Lee who has been omitted.
Captain Kerryn Peterson and defender Daisy Walker will again miss this week through injury, however are both tests to play in Round 4.
It will be the first time in competition history that the two teams will go head-to-head and Carlton's first interstate trip of the season.
The Blues will be looking impact the game from the first bounce, with the contest around the play likely to be a defining factor across the day.
Midfielder Abbie McKay will once again be crucial in helping Carlton launch their attack from the stoppage, with the young Blue leading the team for both contested possessions and total clearances so far in 2023.
Down back, the Blues will once again be turning to the experienced heads of Harriet Cordner and Gab Pound to keep the pressure on the Eagles' forwards in the air and at ground level.
Pound and Cordner combined for nine total rebound 50s - doing their best to slow the persistent attack of the opposition.
Kicking off at 3:05pm (AEST), it will be an important test for the new-look Blues under new coach Mathew Buck.
