A MARK of the man.
Social media was unified in the adoration of the retiring Ed Curnow.
After 221 games of blood, sweat and tears (mostly from laughter), the beloved Blue announced that he would be hanging up the boots at the conclusion of Carlton's AFL season.
The reaction said it all: here's just a selection.

Captaining vs Freo in 2019 when Marc Murphy kicked the winner late. pic.twitter.com/ch6CRT1P8P

You just don't get too many people as special and loyal to the club as this guy. A great human who's given everything he has for us.

Thank you Ed!! 🤍 https://t.co/FcLc6oyeVP
Congrats to Ed Curnow on his wonderful career. He earned the utmost respect of many when he came down to Canterbury JFC on a weekly basis to train the kids. Arrived early, stayed later and coached with passion like it was his own team. High calibre person right there.

No matter what, you always knew what you were going to get from Ed Curnow. Gave 100% week in week out. Got the absolute best out of himself and gave everything for the jumper. Well done Ed. Fantastic career.

Ed Curnow is the ultimate clubman.

One of the hardest workers around and did anything and everything asked of him over the course of his career at the Blues to the absolute ultimate he could.
Hope he stays around the club in some capacity.
We love you, Ed 💙#Baggers
Ed Curnow stories are my favourite stories when talking to past and current players. As wild as they are childish and humorous. https://t.co/TX3Y1xg95r

Ed Curnow is truly the heart and soul of this football club. Without fail, he puts everything on the line every time he steps onto a football field.

Whether he makes an appearance or not this finals series, we show the same effort in honour of him. Let’s do this 💙#baggers
When I was about 6, I was on my father's shoulders and ed gave me a signed footy. I still have it
