Another important game for Carlton this Sunday against the Western Bulldogs at The Dome and once again it will be of significance for two Carlton players. Simon Wiggins will play his 100th game after making his debut for Carlton in round five, 2001 and Chris Judd will play his 150th AFL game in what will be his 16th game for the Blues.

Simon Wiggins was recruited from Glenorchy via the Tasmania Under 18s with Carlton’s first round selection, number 15 overall, in the 2000 National Draft. He made his debut in Carlton’s round five victory over St Kilda at Princes Park in 2001, becoming the 1,045th player to represent Carlton in the AFL.
On Sunday he will become the 153rd player to play 100 games for Carlton and at 25 years and 319 days he will be the 55th youngest to achieve this milestone. Ironically he will move former Tasmanian, Peter ‘Percy’ Jones, back to the 56th youngest player to reach 100 games for Carlton.
His name will be printed on the number 34 locker at Carlton, along with Ian Robertson, Alex Marcou and Ron De Iulio who all played 100 games for Carlton.
He will be the 7th player recruited from Tasmania to play 100 games for Carlton, joining; Maurie Sankey, Peter Jones, John Chick, Eric Huxtable, Vin Valentine and Berkley Cox. Incredibly he will be the 3rd player recruited from Glenorchy (formerly Newtown) in Tasmania to play 100 games for Carlton (John Chick and Eric Huxtable were both recruited from Wiggins’ original club).
The most players to play 100 games for Carlton after being recruited directly from a club is four. Des English, Trevor Keogh, Michael Sexton and Geoff Southby were all recruited from Sandhurst in the Bendigo League.
Wiggins has missed 89 matches since making his debut and it will be seven years and 90 days between his first and 100th game. In his 99 games he has played in 29 victories and one draw for a winning ratio of 29.8%.
Chris Judd
Chris Judd will become the 24th player to play his 150th AFL game while playing for Carlton after commencing his career at another club. Others include current players Jason Saddington, Nick Stevens and Heath Scotland.
At 24 years and 323 days he will be the youngest of these 24 players, 139 days younger than Nick Stevens when he reached the 150 AFL game milestone.
Judd will become the third Carlton Captain to play his 150th AFL match after commencing his career at another club, joining Fred Elliott and Billy Dick.
In his 149 games to date Chris has played in 90 wins and two draws for a winning ratio of 61.07%.
