IT’S A podcast which threatened to rip apart the brotherly fabric of Elijah and Ollie.
After being solo guests last year, the Blues Brothers - one of two pairs these days - joined Summer Sessions for a big chat about pre-season, role changes, living situations and a whole lot more.
Word of advice for the host: don’t ask about Ollie giving a handball to Elijah in training ever again. It doesn’t end well.
We promise though, there is some wholesome chat hidden between the cracks over the course of 40 minutes.
Listen below or wherever you get your podcasts.
15 - Welcome to the party, pals.
00 - Confirming this podcast recording is the first time these two have spoken since separating from their housing situation.
00 - They’re changed individuals now, as their karaoke choices - both as individuals and as a duo - now suggest.
00 - The golf chat officially starts, and it threatens to never stop until a timely intervention. Ollie seems happy about it, considering the last few weeks have been rough for the Club’s consensus best golfer.
00 - The YouTube channel that never was? We feel robbed of prime content.
15 - When they were each last on the show, they spoke about how keen they were to live with one another. What happened?
00 - Ollie and Lemm are reunited, with a few Irish boys joining them - and the simple things in life aren’t so simple anymore. Just ask Rob Monahan - not via text though.
45 - Actually wholesome chat (there’s not much of this to be honest): how was the lived experience about playing with each other in 2024?
40 - “It’s more than us playing together as brothers, it means so much to our family, our friends and where we grew up.” Good quote, Ollie.
45 - There are some new brothers on the block, and they’re pretty strong - as Elijah has found out a few times in training.
30 - Who would’ve thought a question about a handball chain in training would cause such a stir which defines the whole episode?
30 - The boys’ connection to Carlton goes back over 60 years, with a very keen watcher in the great-grandfather who represented the Blues in the 1962 Grand Final.
30 - Martin Cross, Sergio and Stephen Silvagni, Len Cottrell, Scott Camporeale - the Blue bloodline runs strong in the current group.
30 - Despite dad Ben being on three different AFL lists and playing for Richmond, he was still a Carlton man all the way through.
00 - Footy chat returns: what are the big differences from year one to year two in Navy Blue for Elijah Hollands?
30 - How’s life across half-back for Ollie Hollands going?
30 - Would Elijah pick Ollie in AFL Fantasy or SuperCoach? His younger brother is getting a bit of attention… so Lij goes a brutal route to put him back in his box.
00 - Take this as a piece of advice: don’t believe everything you read. Unless it comes up on Carlton Media channels, of course: what really happened when Ollie and Elijah went head-to-head in match sim?
20 - The pre-season cliches. Who’s flying? Who’s bulked up? Who’s set for midfield time?
30 - The Hollands boys haven’t sorted out their goal celebrations just yet for 2025, but fear not, because Harry McKay’s Zoomies are still here.
30 - Tottenham are struggling and the boys are feeling for Big Ange (and Brodie Kemp), but the chance to meet him and Son Heung-Min was a genuine highlight.
15 - Nickname chat: Jov and the Gospel. You’ll have to listen to find out who they are.
30 - A trip to Torquay in January seems a bit early for Camp Curnow Mk II, but from next week, we’re back home. And for the first time, the boys agree on how excited they are. That’s nice.
40 - Home stretch. Let’s go.
