CARLTON has named its Round 19 team to take on West Coast.

The Blues will be without captain Patrick Cripps and Adam Cerra for the first time this season, alongside the confirmed outs of Harry McKay (knee) and Jordan Boyd (suspension).

Cripps has been unable to train all week after sustaining a cork in last week’s game. Cripps will miss this week and, at this stage, is a test to play next week against Collingwood.

Cerra will also miss with hamstring tightness after sitting out the end of the game against Port Adelaide.

In their absence, the Blues have recalled two of their 2022 draft class, with exciting youngsters Lachie Cowan and Ollie Hollands both named for their senior recalls.

Cowan will play his first game since April after playing the first six matches of the year, while it’s Hollands’ return to the AFL line-up after undergoing surgery on a fractured collarbone.

He impressed for the Carlton Reserves on return a fortnight ago, while Cowan has been in strong VFL form over the last month, averaging 22 disposals a game across his last four matches.

In the absence of some prime ball-winners, providing the experience for Carlton will be the returning Ed Curnow, while Paddy Dow has also been elevated into the starting 22 after being activated as sub early in last week’s win over Port Adelaide. 

Jesse Motlop also reprises his role from last weekend, after starring as the latest of inclusions to produce a four-goal haul against Port.

Carlton's sub will be one of its four emergencies in Jaxon Binns, Josh Honey, Caleb Marchbank and Lewis Young.

Saturday's game kicks off from 2:10pm at Marvel Stadium.
