Blues back in town
The Carlton players returned to Visy Park on Monday morning for their first training run of 2012.
By Wednesday all players will have hit the track for the first week of a high intensity 7-week training block leading up to the Club’s Round One NAB Cup match on February 26.
Midfielder Mitch Robinson said all players took advantage of the three week break to spend time catching up with family and recharging their batteries in preparation for season 2012.
“Most of the boys started pre-season earlier than usual last year with the Qatar and Abu Dhabi trip, so it was nice to have an extra couple of days off over Christmas to get our bodies right,” he said.
With no official team trainings scheduled over the break, the players undertook their own programs to maintain their skills and fitness.
“It is always pretty refreshing to take some time away from the Club and break up your training routine because it is a long season,” he said.
“But like the rest of the boys, I’m pretty pumped to be back here and keen to pick up where we left off in December,” he said.
All Carlton supporters are invited to come along and show their support at the Club’s first open training session for 2012 at Visy Park this Friday at 9:30am.
