Son of a gun!
The Carlton Football Club's Father and Son Academy was recently held at Visy Park.
Carlton Player Development Manager, James Golds, says the main purpose of the program is to foster an ongoing relationship between the Club, past players and their sons.
"It also provides an opportunity for the Club to track and support eligible father- son prospects. We are looking to the future. Through this process the whole club gains a greater sense of the rich history which forms the foundation of the Carlton Football Club. I believe occasions such these help to unite the Club at every level."
Activities on the day included skill acquisition, weights, nutrition as well as journal writing and reflections.
Carlton's Northern Blues Coach, Luke Webster, says it was fantastic to see the sons of former Carlton champions interact with current Carlton Football Club players.
"It provided the father and sons with a great opportunity to see the day-to-day activities of elite footballers and also continue to build their relationship with this great club."
Eight-year-old Max Hanna, son of Mil Hanna, learnt a lot from the day including the ways in which he can continue in improving his football skills.
"To recover my muscles, eat healthy food, to keep a daily routine of exercising and to control my kicks and handballs."
Whilst Archi Manton, son of Glen Manton, says.
"Handballing, kicking with my left foot and being confident with my left foot."
Whilst all the boys may not necessarily get the opportunity to play for the Blues, they will always be part of the Carlton family.
