CARLTON has named two additions to its Round 16 team.
After last night’s squad announcement, the Blues have confirmed that Jack Silvagni and Ed Curnow will return to the line-up.
Silvagni was one of the team’s best in the VFL against Werribee a fortnight ago, playing in defence: however, in the absence of Marc Pittonet (knee), it’ll be a wait-and-see on what role Silvagni will play this weekend.
Ed Curnow replaces Matthew Cottrell in the team, with the suspended Blue largely playing a high half-forward role since his return to the senior line-up six weeks ago.
With Silvagni’s inclusion, he will join Jacob Weitering, Harry McKay, Charlie Curnow and David Cuningham in the AFL side. Sunday will mark just the eighth occasion that the full quintet from Carlton’s 2015 draft class will play in the same game, and the first time since 2019.
One of Jaxon Binns, George Hewett, Josh Honey and Lewis Young will be sub, named an hour before Sunday’s 1:10pm bounce at the MCG.
