Carlton was delighted to host 50 young migrants and refugees at Ikon Park on Friday.
Thanks to the Club’s partnership with the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY), the participants spent the day taking part in health and wellbeing activities.
Kicking footies, playing table tennis, badminton and soccer were a few of the skills they learnt while at the Club.
The program is also an extension of the Blues’ SOUND Mind, Body, Community program, which was launched earlier this year.
This program aims to upskill primary school students on holistic health and wellbeing. It includes a four-week program that is co-presented by staff and players of the Carlton Football Club and strives to impact behaviours and attitudes towards holistic health.
In addition to this, students are involved in experiential learning through theoretical and practical education, teaching the importance of education through sport.
The Club delivers the program across the Northern Corridor of Melbourne.
There’s no doubt everyone who attended the session today had a good time, all leaving with smiles on their faces.
