More than 80-thousand football fans are expected to pack the MCG tonight to see Carlton take on Richmond in a rematch of last year's Elimination Final.
The match will mark Carlton forward Jeff Garlett's 100th AFL game.
Garlett was recruited to Carlton through the rookie draft at the end of 2008. He was quickly elevated to the senior side and made his debut against Richmond in Round 1, 2009.
In 2013, Garlett was Carlton’s leading goal-kicker.
Speaking on SEN, Blues Assistant Coach John Barker said “Jeffy” prides himself on his consistency.
CARLTON VS RICHMOND: THE STORY SO FAR
"He's (Garlett’s) one of the guys that we talk about at the club in terms of consistency," Barker said. "He's got the potential to be one of the best defensive forwards in the competition."
Meanwhile Barker also revealed that Bryce Gibbs is set to spend some more time in the midfield tonight, in the absence of Chris Judd and Andrew Carrazzo.
The Blues have made two changes for the clash, bringing in Simon White and Kane Lucas in place of Andrew McInnes and the suspended Andrew Walker.
The Tigers have also made two changes with Jake King and Dylan Grimes coming in for Alex Rance and Matt McDonough.
From the three encounters between the two sides last year Richmond won one game, while Carlton won two, including the epic triumph in the Elimination Final.
The match kicks off at the MCG at 7.45pm AEST.
